WEAR NOW, PAY LATER!

My current favourite pre-loved designer fashion website, Vestiaire Collective, has come up with the ingenious idea of WEAR NOW, PAY LATER – interest-free credit spread over three months (on purchases over £400). What’s not to love?

What I love about Vestiaire Collective is that it is awash with everyone’s favourite designer labels, from Chloé, Isabel Marant and Stella McCartney to Burberry, Chanel and Gucci. I am just about to buy myself a pair of Miu Miu sunglasses that are £100 off the original price and have never been worn. I had my eye on them at Miu Miu over Christmas, but they were too expensive. My patience has paid off!

There are the more unusual labels too, such as my love-of-the-moment, Vita Kin, and although not generally reduced in price, at least these impossible to get hold of dresses are available and most have hardly been worn. In fact, I will be selling one of my Vyshyvanka by Vita Kin dresses on Vestiaire very soon, so watch this space.

So the idea of wear now, pay later, is rather tempting. Perhaps it’s time to invest in that long-coveted Chanel handbag?

THE TRENCH

Facetune

With the weather on a downward turn, today feels like the perfect day to talk about the trench. One of my all-time favourite wardrobe staples, I could not live without it. I have a vintage ’70s Burberry trench that I bought on Ebay about ten years ago and it comes out every spring and autumn without fail. I’ve dabbled with high street versions, but have always gone back to ‘the Burberry’.

The Burberry trench is far and few between on Ebay these days, with everybody from Alexa Chung to Kim Kardashian wearing the famous mac, but pre-owned websites such as Covetique still have them for a fraction of the price of a brand new one.

And then of course there is the high street which is not to be sniffed at. Mango do a great short classic trench coat which looks great with jeans, and Topshop have a one which I would be snapping up if I didn’t have the Burberry.

Whether it’s worn with jeans, a floral summer dress or a cocktail dress, the trench is a great ‘in-betweener’ when it’s not quite warm enough to bare all, or not yet cold enough for a winter coat. An investment that you can bring out twice a year, now that’s money well spent!
