The kimono has been steadily edging it’s way up the fashion must-have list since summer 2014, but I am predicting that this summer, the kimono, particularly the vintage kimono, is going to be a ‘thing’. I will be posting more about this in a week or two, but the reason for this post is that I have a dilemma and I need your help.
Since the end of February, I have been on the search for a light coat for spring. I have a trench, but I wanted more of a coat, something lighter than my winter coat, but not as lightweight as my mac. It then occurred to me that a kimono could be a fabulous alternative, and would look great with jeans and flats (or heels) or a simple dress.
The kimono is already seeping onto the high street – Topshop, ASOS, H&M – but I’m a lover of vintage and always prefer something a little more authentic. Of course, I’ve taken it one step further, which tends to be a habit of mine, and have found the most amazing online ‘kimono market’ based in Japan.
I have spent weeks trawling through [literally] thousands of kimonos and have managed to whittle it down to two rather beautiful two vintage ones. The problem is, I can’t decide between them. If you could help me choose, I would be very grateful… either comment below, tweet or send me a message on Facebook. After the weekend, I shall take the plunge and order the vintage kimono with the most votes!
So here goes…
